Old Testament tradition does not know the idea of fate (fatum, ananke). Nothing is given in beforehand. Adonaj (Jahwe, Lord) is not dipendent on fate as other gods. Every man has his lot (hebrew : mikre). This lot is given by faith meaning to human life - orienting every man towards future, no status quo, but what is coming.
